The course is designed as an introduction to Shibari, Kinbaku and other consensual bondage techniques.

Shibari binds may not always look it, but in essence can be surprisingly uncomplicated. We provide you with a structured approach to learning the basics which allows you to quickly and confidently progress onto creating your own binds and wraps for your lover.

The School is built  around the concept of giving you the ability to learn to quickly tie each other with confidence, regardless of your experience with rope. We insist both parties tie and be tied in order to fully understand and  mutually appreciate the lessons learned. The English School focuses on 'floorwork', simple, useful, multi purpose binds. We make sure you understand how they are tied safely before moving onto more complex, artistic binds and finally the very beginnings of technical ties.

We teach the foundations of safe and loving bondage practices. From simple but beautiful rope shackles right through to a basic harness. In between, time permitting and as requested we will show you some of the simpler but still very exciting binds and positions possible. You should note well there is no sexual content and classes are entirely for educational purposes only. Whilst the subject is erotic and involves physical contact, this is not in any way gratuitous or intimate and there is absolutely no nudity; very much like a Dance, Yoga, Circus or fitness class. We focus on the beauty and eroticism of the Shibari tradition and tend not to focus on any S/M influence in these classes. You can only apply in pairs; boy/girl, boy/boy, girl/girl as you will be tying each other.

We start with the basics, always with safety in mind. You will learn the one column tie, two column tie and some of the different styles of rope shackle. Each has it's own use and aesthetic appeal.

We then move on to slightly more complicated knots and binds and explore the possibilities of these, learning to tie such positions as the 'dragonfly sleeve', 'teppou', the 'claw', 'futomomo'; how to construct a 'karada' and finish with the 'takate kote'.

Inbeween you will learn a little about the tradition of these ties, a LOT about the safety aspects of each and get the time and opportunity to have fun and practice with your partner. All with some individual instruction and attention from our teachers.
